:: Street guide of Cangas

The municipality of Cangas is placed on the southwest side of the Peninsula of Morrazo, in the heart of Galician Rias Baixas. It extends between the Rias of Vigo and Pontevedra and is flanked by Cies and Ons Islands. In order to discover all its wealth, it is necessary to occur a return by its five parishes: Aldán, Darbo, Hío, Coiro and Cangas.

To discover all its richness it is necessary to go for a stroll around its five parishes: Aldán, Darbo, Hío, Coiro and Cangas. It is worth staying and enjoying some days in this land to discover our people and traditions, the beauty of our beaches and landscape, as well as our assorted gastronomy and magnificent historic-artistic heritage.

Cangas has an exceptional oceanic climate: mild and damp in winter and dry and hot in summer. Evidence of this is the fact that the yearly average temperature is 16ºC, fluctuating the average temperature in January between 10º and 12º C and during the months of summer between 20º and 22ºC.

Cangas has good land, sea and air connections. By road, the most important communication route is national road PO-551, that connects the Peninsula with the Rias of Vigo and Pontevedra and passes through Moaña, Bueu and Marín. From Vigo, you can come to Cangas through A-9, Atlantic motorway, crossing the Rande Bridge and linking with Morrazo road. There are regular services from Vigo and Pontevedra bus stations.

The voyage by ship is very recommended because it gives you the opportunity to see Cangas and Vigo from the sea. Ships depart from both quays every half an hour and the trip lasts about 20 minutes. In summer, ships depart from Cangas and Vigo to Cies Islands.

Next airports are the one of Peinador in Vigo to 30 km, and the one of Lavacolla in Santiago de Compostela to 75 km Both with easy access to the freeway of the Atlantic.
