Cangas do Morrazo
The
village of Cangas, placed on the southwest
side of the Peninsula of Morrazo, in the
heart of Galician Rias Baixas, offers the
visitor many and varied tourist
attractiveness. To discover all its richness
it is necessary to go for a stroll around
its five parishes: Aldán, Coiro, Cangas,
Darbo and Hío. It is worth staying and
enjoying some days in this land to discover
our people and traditions, the beauty of our
beaches, which are constant along the coast,
and the landscape, as well as our assorted
gastronomy and magnificent historic-artistic
heritage.
The parish of Aldán, with its little ria of
calm waters, offers us beautiful beaches and very near, in the
parish of Hío, there are little coves combined with big beaches,
highlighting also the beautiful baroque “cruceiro” (cross), one of
the most important ones preserved in Galicia. The view over the sea
and Cies Islands from the cliffs of Costa de Soavela and Cabo Home
are imposing...
The parishes of Darbo and Coiro count on beautiful baroque churches
and wonderful places and in the centre of the parish of Cangas we
can enjoy the typical houses with “patín”, the former collegiate
church, the promenade, etc.
After a delightful walk, it is worth
stopping and enjoying the abundant gastronomic offer shared out by
the numerous restaurants and bars and the great number of popular
festivals and cultural events hold along the year, highlighting the
“Mostra de Teatro Cómico e Festivo” (theatre festival), Argálica (craftsmanship
exhibition), “Danzas de Damas e Galanes” (dance) and Holy Week,
among others.

Cangas de
Narcea
Placed
on the southwest side of Asturias,"Cangas
de Narcea" is an extensive municipality where it
highlights its natural environment of a big quality and extent,
covered its main part with luxurious indigenous forests that form
beautiful corners where the traveller can still feel the nature in
the most pure state. The Muniellos forest, declared Comprehensive
Natural Reserve, is one of the most representative spaces that
shelters indigenous species such as bear and capercaillie. On the
other hand, the visitor will develop a great number of sports linked
with nature, such as game hunting (roe deer, wild boar, deer and
chassois) and lower game hunting, as well as the river fishing in
any of its kinds.

Cangas de
Onís
"Cangas
de Onís" is a whole of History, religiousness and
landscape. With a great part of its territory inside the National Park
of Picos de Europa, it highlights as a natural entrance to this
mountainous massif and as point of departure for numerous excursions,
not only to the Comarca Oriental Asturiana (eastern region of Asturias),
but also by all the Principado (principality). Cangas de Onís welcomes
the traveller as a town that combines the perfection of its taste of old
village with the life and the level of services of a modern city. It
adds to this open and friendly character the condition of Marian
Sanctuary. Don’t forget that Covadonga was the beginning of our history
and the point of arrival during centuries for pilgrims who, from all
Europe, came attracted by the beauty and recollection of the Holy Cave.
It has a privileged situation, at the bottom of Picos de Europa, and it
is very close to the coast (hardly 25 kilometres form the best beaches
of the east side of Asturias). Nowadays, it offers the visitor a very
complete and balanced hotel infrastructure, perfectly adapted to the
environment and that covers the need of accommodation. This offer is
completed with a great variety of restaurants, companies of active
tourism, mountain guide services, etc.
Cangas de Onís represents a different way to practise tourism, where the
values of our people and the serene majestuosity of our landscape
spreads out in front of the traveller making the stay a time to remember,
a time to live.
