(B.A.)Blue Flag: Blue Flag is a synonym of safe and clean beaches. In Europe, the concept dates from 1985.

As for the number of beaches, about thirty eight, our municipality has no equal in Europe. But we can show off not only on quantity, but also on quality, so we can assert that Cangas beaches have immaculate white and very fine sand, recognized many of them with the Blue Flag. Together with quality and quantity, we can’t avoid talking about diversity, because Cangas extends between two rias, each one with its own and marked personality. So, the Ria of Aldán has isolated and lonely coves, such as Castiñeiras or Pipin, and other ones more accessible and crowded, such as Areabrava and Menduiña. On the other hand, the Ria of Vigo welcomes us with practically virgin beaches: Limens, Nerga, Barra and Melide, surrounded all of them by dunes with a great biological diversity.
